How to make a view to shows images (files) as thumbnails

In this case you can setup image size in tag to get thumbnails. See the screenshot below:

In this way, the original images will be loaded.

To reduce file size and load the optimized thumbnail image, install '???' module to be able to add 'Rendered entity' field and select 'Thumbnail' view mode.
